Is your little one getting to the age where they’re old enough for sleepovers?
It’s such a special time for them when they’re able to stay overnight at a friend or relatives house, as it is for you as their parents.
But as it is a new experience for you and your child, you might be wondering what you need to pack for your child to send them on their way.
With that in mind, we thought we’d write up a blog about what you can pack for them.
Before we get into what you should pack for them, we need to talk about what we’re going to put those items into: a backpack.
There are a variety of backpacks available for you to choose from including your standard thick strap backpack with a zipper or a drawstring bag that can be easily closed.
Whichever option you choose, make sure that it has enough compartments to keep all their belongings in.
A Cuddly Friend
Every little toddler has a soft, cuddly friend that they take everywhere with them so they feel safe & sound.
This cuddly friend is especially important when your toddler is going on their first sleepover.
They might be a little scared or a little nervous, so they might need something they’re familiar with to feel comfortable.
A Favourite Toy
A little bit different than their cuddly friend, a favourite toy is something they can play with in addition to the other toys they’ll no doubt play with.
Whether it be their favourite puzzle or train set, make sure it’s well and truly packed into their backpack so they can play with it when they want.
Those All-Important Snacks
If you had a mother like ours, you’ll know she never wanted you to go to anyone’s house without bringing something with you to share.
This usually came in the form of snacks such as a big bag of chips or a packet of lollies to share with the other kids.
Your toddler’s very first sleepover is such an exciting time for a number of reasons for you and your child, and it’s important to be prepared.
This ensures that your child has everything they need to have an enjoyable time and that they want to do it again.
